I thought the book was thorough and complete when I took some quick glances through it b/c the pictures seemed helpful and easy to understand...just to be mislead into buying it. I've read many great books for med school (robbins, path secrets, BRS, pathophys for B&W) but this by far gives the most worthless cluttered info for diseases possible. It is completely impossible to learn or summarize key concepts with this book....NOT recommended for review for boards, but it is worth reading if you are bored...ahaha

I appreciate the promptness with which your company sends its products out, and I also appreciate that they remain in the new condition on arrival to me. Thank You. One drawback I have seen to your site is that when you end up being late sending an item there are times when you back the date up for several more weeks, which when your a student you need these books to arrive as soon as possible to keep up with reading assignments.

This is an excellent pathophysiology book available in the market. I am right now preparing for my step 2 but I wish I would have used this book for my step 1. I have a decent score on my step 1 and I have taken the exam recently and I think if somebody masters this book they can rock the exam. This book gives excellent information regarding many diseases. I am trying to study this book right now with CMDT, which is also by the same author. Because CMDT is a very concise text book of IM it doesn't explain all the pathophysiology for a disease but this book has all the answers about the pathophysiology of a disease. And I think its a worth buying book for all the medical students, if you study this book little by little during preclinical years it will help you very much understand the IM in the clinical years. I was surprize to find some infornation which I was craving for since few years of my med school. You will even find pathophysilogy of very rare syndromes, as for example I was amazed when I read about X linked Hypophosphatemic rickets. If you are like me who wants to have explanation behind everything, get this book today, you wan't be disappointed.

I found the book vague and unclear. It was recommended as a "reference" book for a graduate level pathophysiology course and it was the first book I returned. There are several other books on pathophysiology that are on the market for about the same price or a bit more that are MUCH more thorough and useful for undergraduate, graduate or medical student reference. I would NOT recommend this book for anyone looking at any type of indepth medical information.

Hi there first of all I would like to say that I am from Brazil, Recife, Pernambuco. I went to a university called UPE, FESP which is in the north east part of Brazil. I bought this book because I thought that it would complement BRS pathologyý
But it really didnýt so as I thought that it would;
I mean it does but its like discussing too much one some points so its just not really a good book for the USMLE step1 prep; I was actually led to think that because of something I had read on the first aid book that said that ý
Really did not like the book at all for the usmle prep. Although you can see that itýs a very well made book and they put their hearts into making it but itýs just not good enough for the boards.
Itýs not serving me any good I barely opened it since I bought it and I got their latest edition it was sort of a waste of money for meý I think that this book might be of value for the students at UCSF that are taking classes on introduction to medicine or something like thatý
But for the usmle? Forget itý!!!
Itýs really confusing, and there are no simple index for a particular disease, meaning If you look for something in specific it will be related with some many things that you wont see it right there; there wonýt be simple diseases listed there for you to look at like thatý
Every time I go look for something its not there or itýs in contest with something else makes you loose so much time looking at it to find itý Itýs a very good book but not to be used as a complement to BRS pathology unless youýre taking the class.
Hope that this was of help to some of youý
Dr.Claudio A.G.Monteiro Filho.
